Fall Treat

This post is a couple of days delayed considering Halloween happened a week ago but I figured I'd still share this recipe with you.  I went to a Halloween party and we were asked to bring food so after searching on pinterest for some creative ideas, I finally came to the decision to just make Rice Krispie bars with a little fall twist.  They ended up being a hit!

The Original Treats Recipe

3 tablespoons butter
1 package of regular marshmallows
6 cups  Rice Krispies cereal

My added ingredient:
1 cup of Candy Corn

I didn't have a large bowl so my glass dish had to suffice.  But in a large microwave safe container heat butter and marshmallows for about 3 minutes and stir after.

This is how the marshmallows will look after heated

Then add cups of Kellogg's Rice Krispies cereal to the marshmallows and stir until it's all mixed in.

It will look like a sticky mess like this! Then gradually pour in candy corns to mixture and stir.

Transfer mixture into a 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan coated with cooking spray.  Gently press mixture around to make it spread evenly.  Allow to cool.  I added a few extra candy corn on top to give a better visual effect.

The yummy & simple finished product!
